SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The main purpose for this test procedure is to evaluate the transient occurring in simple inductive equipment (motor, solenoid, relay, etc.) installed in the cars produced by GMDAT (hereinafter the ‘The Company'). However, it shall also be applied to sub system where such electrical and electronic components are interconnected by wiring harness.

PURPOSE

This standard defines a bench test procedure to evaluate automotive electrical and electronic components for emission of transients and/or other Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) conducted on the wiring harness (Conducted Emissions). The potential source(s) of interference in the Device Under Test (DUT) should be examined per test plan according to the procedure described in this document. This procedure will provide a uniform means for evaluating transients and other EMI conducted from the DUT.
