About This Item

Full Description

Loss coefficients were measured for several flat oval diverging tee and lateral fittings. Branch and main loss coefficients were found at various flow rate ratios. A power law model was used to correlate branch loss coefficient data as a function of branch-to-common flow rate and area ratios. The straight-body tee and lateral linear coefficients of determination were 0.934 and 0.882. In general, the main loss coefficients did not vary with flow rate ratio. The average values for the main loss coefficient for the straight-body tees and straight-body laterals were found to be -0.167 and -0.216, respectively.
