This standard establishes uniform methods of laboratory testing and test documentation for fans used to exhaust smoke in smoke management systems. In addition to the fans themselves, the standard also covers fan components and accessories.
The standard establishes test procedures for fan tests (aerodynamic performance, operation at specified elevated temperature, and reversal) and appurtenance tests (dampers).
