About This Item
Full Description
A Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow isdeveloped to automate data transfer across softwareplatforms and facilitate an iterative energy modelingpractice. The workflow comprises a translation of Revitmodel geometry and parameters using a customapplication for the automated export of an eQUESTinput file. Revisions can be made in Revit and reimportedinto a revised version of the eQUEST file. Thisworkflow further utilizes a shared web-based Accessdatabase of project information, which includes energyanalysis parameters such as ventilation rates, internalloads, and use schedules that can be synchronized withRevit model parameters and subsequently fed into theeQUEST input file. Ultimately the workflow couldexpand to support other text-based input files andplatforms.
