DRAFT * SAME AS ISO 37154

This International Standard provides guidelines on the design, planning, creation, implementation, organization, operation, maintenance, monitoring and improvement of smart transportation for passengers, delivery items, freight and postal items, as a smart community infrastructure within/between regions in communities to give successful solutions to intra-/inter-city issues. This document is useful for city planners, other community decision makers, governors, insurance organizations, funding organizations and those involved in the operation of transportation services or manufacture and sale of parts and instruments thereof, especially when choosing transportation modes, functions and services by smart community infrastructures for communities from the viewpoint of the users of transportation, including citizens, visitors and governors of communities, in order to meet objectives, like affordability, convenience, and low environmental impact, while also providing users safe, convenient and reliable transportation services. Smart transportation is addressed considering the situations of communities that depend on population, generation structures, location, local culture, history and other factors shaping or forming communities. This International Standard does not contain technical specification or requirements related to the construction of transportation assets and facilities. Instead, it addresses the scope of transportation services, functions and the objectives to be realized through smart transportation solutions.
