DE-79-06-2 -- The Integral Solar Collector

Components for integrated solar collectors have been manufactured for many years and tradesmen working in construction have the skills to assemble them. This provides an economical apprqach to solar space heating,eliminating duplication of framing, insulation and water-proofing while custom-fitting during the building process. As a result properly designed solar structure cost no more than conventional buildings, provided designers begin with the passible approach and add active fixes only when necessary. Discussion of components, workmanship and costs is included.
