About This Item
Full Description
The need for this research project is to identify and evaluate alternative fluids and/or additives for naturally stratified chilled water cold storage that provide higher chilled water storage capacity through lower operating temperatures and a shifted or eliminated density maximum without undesirable performance or operational effects. The objective of this research project is to perform a literature and industry search to identify fluids and water additives that potentially eliminate, or shift to lower temperatures, the density maximum of water, without significant increases in corrosion potential, capital costs, or operational costs.
