Geothermal Heat Pump systems are expensive primarily due to cost and installation of ground heat exchangers. This session will explore three ways to introduce thermal energy storage in the system design with the goal to reduce the size of ground heat exchanger. The methods presented also explore ways to use off peak rates for low cost system operation. The presenters willshare modeling aspects of this design and its use in innovative projects across the US.
