Full Description

The Water Treatment Plant Infrastructure Assessment Manager (Manager) incorporates a multi- discipline approach to conducting a detailed assessment of the condition and functionality of the assets and systems throughout a water treatment plant. Features of this program include customization for a specific plant, integrated use of assessment tools, automated report generation, and discussion of how to integrate the information into a prioritized Capital Improvement Program (CIP). In 2003, the Manager was updated to Version 1.2. Among the new added features is a financial component to the Manager that guides the user through both Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement 34 (GASB 34) modified and straight-line depreciation approaches. This new component allows the user to track acquisition and depreciation costs, replacement, salvage, and book values, original and remaining useful life values, and maintenance and repair costs, as well as level of service, and criticality for each asset. Additional new features include the ability to attach digital photos to assets, and save and load databases, thereby permitting better asset tracking over time. With Version 1.2, reports now sort from lowest to highest score and worst/high to best/low condition/criticality. Criticality, Photo, GASB 34, and GASB 34 Filter reports have been added as well, which enable the user to create unit reports using customized queries or "filters". Manager's walk-through Tour and help files were also updated to reflect the new features. Manager's Version 1.2 is now a comprehensive infrastructure assessment software package with a full complement of asset management components: asset inventory, asset evaluations, including condition and criticality, asset valuation using the modified and straight-line depreciation approaches, prioritized reports for CIP development and operations and maintenance optimization, and the ability to track assets over time. Includes reference, tables, figures.
