About This Item

Full Description

Examines the influence of the building envelope, especially the glazed part, on the annual hourly energy loads of peripheral office spaces under variant climatic conditions. The contribution of glazing to daylighting, and hence possible reduction of electricity consumption is ignored. Finds that, from a thermal standpoint, a windowless building facade is the optimum design for peripheral office spaces, regardless of orientation and climatic condition.
