About This Item
Full Description
This Guide provides general criteria and data based on criticality experiments and validated calculations within the scope of this document and simple empirical models adaptable for engineering purposes for safe design of interconnecting pipe systems handling solutions of uranyl nitrate enriched in the 235U isotope. At present, the only available model is that for aqueous solutions of uranyl nitrate in which the uranium is enriched to 93.5 wt % 235U. As more data become available, models for other uranium isotopic enrichments and fissionable elements may be developed and published as related standards.
