About This Item

Full Description

This paper presents the improved algorithm for the steady state water quality model (SSWQM) in a water distribution system that was developed at the University of Akron. The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and its amendments require all water purveyors to meet the drinking water quality standard at consumer taps. In addition, several regulations require monitoring of chlorine concentrations throughout the water distribution system. Therefore, it is vital to establish a representative sampling location in a water distribution system and to determine hypothetical water quality.
