1.1
This Standard provides energy and lighting performance requirements for Cobra-head type luminaires using (a) 50 to 400 W high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps; or (b) 70 to 400 W metal halide (MH) lamps; and (c) small and medium refractors made of material such as glass, polycarbonate, or acrylic.
1.2
This Standard applies to luminaires used along streets, roadways, and highways in standard one-sided, staggered, and opposite layout arrangements.
1.3
This Standard is based on average luminance, luminance ratio, rated lamp watts, and rated lamp lumens.
1.4
This Standard applies only to clear lamps.
