Full Description

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different strategies of tap water handling in the home on the resulting concentrations of the two main species of chlorinated disinfection byproducts (DBPs): THMs and HAAs. The study focuses on the impact of tap water storage and refrigeration preceded by boiling or domestic filtration on concentrations of chlorinated DBPs. The investigation is based on a protocol that considers the handling of several samples of tap water collected at different moments during the summer season and at various locations within the distribution system. Includes 3 references, figures.
