About This Item

Full Description

This test method covers the determination of the splitting tensile strength of cylindrical concrete specimens, such as molded cylinders and drilled cores.

Note—For methods of molding cylindrical specimens, see AASHTO R 39 and R 100. For methods of obtaining drilled cores, see AASHTO T 24M/T 24.

The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The SI units are shown in parentheses. The values stated in each system may not be exactly equivalent; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
