This paper examines calibration procedures using data from continuous monitoring devices employed successfully in Camden, New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware. The value of the continuous field data collection is best shown through the models produced for these urban systems. Both utilities use the resulting model networks with the confidence brought on by detailed calibration. Each has improved actual system performance by correcting system problems identified during the calibration process.
