If reverse osmosis and nanofiltration are applied in drinking water treatment, it is desirable to calculate the concentration of the carbonic acid species as exactly as possible, because pretreatment, operation (scaling) and posttreatment (stripping) are greatly influenced by carbonic acid species. This paper presents a method for calculating carbonic acid species.
