Scope of the recommendation

The scope developed in this recommendation covers the following topics:

- definition of support requirements,

- ILS management,

- implementation of tasks and processes,

- relationships with costs and schedule control, configuration management, performance and RAMS management, quality assurance, documentation management,

- regulations (SSI, export control, …),

- environment (RoHS, REACH, …),

- SI & link: Logistic Information Systems - LIS,

- service,

- configuration management of ILS items,

- life cycle.

The stakeholders concerned by these topics are the following:

- users in its broader sense, users, maintenance operators, managers, … of the system;

- procuring agency which:

- prepares technical and contractual specifications of need to which the system shall comply with,

- sets up the funding of the programme,

- controls the realization of the system,

- sets up the initial support, in service support,

- presents the lessons learnt.

- the prime contractor(s) who:

- on the one hand, entrust the development and the industrial production of the various elements of the systems to their own suppliers,

- on the other hand, supply the procuring agency with a (main and support) system satisfying the performance specifications within the required schedule and costs throughout the system life cycle.

The principles laid down in this recommendation can be applied, after adaptation to all the customer/supplier relationships resulting from the breakdown of the main contract into sub-contracts.

Purpose of the recommendation

The purpose of this RG.Aéro 000 76A recommendation is to:

- identify and describe in a structured way the activity and task principles of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) for the main types of stakeholders within the system life cycle, from the definition of requirements to disposal,

- place the activities, tasks and ILS deliverables within the programme phasing,

- identify the main selection and design criteria of activities and tasks according to the nature of programme and requirements,

- control the relationships with the other aspects of programme management.
