About This Item

Full Description

This National Standard of Canada covers minimum requirements for hose nozzle valves that are intended to be used to control the flow of flammable and combustible liquids, which are handled at temperature within the range of negative 40 degrees C to positive 50 degrees C at a working pressure of not less than 350 kPa. For the purposes of this Standard, flammable and combustible liquids mean gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene and diesel fuel, including gasoline with small amounts of additives such as detergents, solvents for detergents and anti-icing chemicals; and gasoline with up to 15 percent ethanol ot methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE). The hose nozzle valves are of the types used in the assembly of motor fuel dispensing equipment. They are of the automatic or manually operated type, to the exclusion of types operated wholly or partially by electricity. They may form part of a assembly that provides for additional functions of service, the requirements of which are outside the scope of this Standard. These requirements do not apply to hose nozzle valves incorporating a vapour recovery feature.
