INTRODUCTION

This Item provides a means of estimating the effect on noise measurements, made at a position above the ground, due to reflection of the sound wave by the ground. The ground-reflection correction is estimated in the form of a difference spectrum, which may be subtracted from a measured spectrum to give a free-field spectrum, or added to a free-field spectrum to give a measured spectrum.
