Full Description

ENGLISH/GERMAN

This standard contains regulations for hexagon nuts made of aluminium alloys and metric thread according to ISO 261 and ISO 965-1.

Nuts according this standard can be used up to temperatures of +150 C (long-term stability) and should be used in combination with aluminum screws, preferably.

Unless otherwise specified, the nominal height of the nut is 1 x d.

The prevailing torque shall comply to ISO 2320, when using aluminum nuts with non-metalic insert.

Note: Due to the increased tendency of galling, do not use self-locking nuts with mechanical prevailing torque feature.

The internal metric nut thread should preferably be tapped (machined). Nuts can be used with self-clearing groove for use with painted screws.

Usage of uncoated components of ferrous metals combined with AL nuts is not recommended.

This standard is based on ISO 8839.
