This standard is applied to radial lip type seals in automobile.

PURPOSE

This standard provides a method for gaging lip opening pressure of radial lip type seals. Lip opening pressure is related to a standard air flow occurring between the lip and a test mandrel when air is applied to one side of the seal assembly.
