Purpose/Material Description.

This specification describes material grades of a blend of polypropylene and an elastomer, mineral filled, heat stabilized, UV stabilized, pellet form, injection molding compounds, used in interior applications. For the purpose of this specification, a polyolefin alloy is defined as an alloy of Polypropylene (PP) plastic and an elastomer for impact modification, also known as Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO). This material may be molded in color or painted.

Types. The classification into groups is according to the density, flow, scratch resistance, and Ultraviolet (UV) stabilization as described in Table 1 and Table 3.

Symbols.

The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is >PP+E/P-MXX<.

Applicability.

Typical applications include the following: Interior Trim.
