About This Item

Full Description

For fire or an explosion to occur, three things must be present at the same time: Oxygen to sustain combustion; Heat to raise the material to its ignition temperature; and Fuel or combustible material. Oxygen, heat, and fuel are called the fire triangle. Take any of these three things away, and you will not have a fire or an explosion. This book has been updated to the NEC-2008.

Essentially, hazardous locations code rules focus on keeping fuel sources separated from ignition sources (electrical current). This involves removal of at least one leg of the fire triangle. This text reveals how this is donecarefully and methodically.
