About This Item

Full Description

Exhausting vented gases as a vertical jet causes increased dilution close to the source as the jet is bent over by the wind. A simple theory is developed and compared with experiments for wind direction normal to the upwind face. The influence of changing wind direction on minimum dilution is investigated experimentally and found to be small when the vertical exhaust velocity is large.
