INTRODUCTION

Flight simulator site conditions (such as ample space), and the limited number of concerned sites, normally permit use to be made of engineering drawings, test specifications, data and programing information in the form in which they are prepared during the simulator R&D and production phases. It is customary for copies of such material to be supplied direct to each simulator site as part of an Engineering Data Package (EDP). To achieve economy in publications costs:

Simulator publications shall cross refer to, but not repeat, information issued as part of the EDP. There may be cases for exception from this general rule, each must be agreed with the Publications Authority.

Copies of proprietary manuals shall be used whenever they are suitable. They shall be included in the EDP or be adapted for Service use, if the Service so requires, by the addition of a cover label, amendment record and such other preliminary material as is necessary (see para 15).

The required information on flight simulator equipment shall be presented under the topic designation 1A; if warranted, information on associated systems may be issued as Topic 1B, 1C etc (para 13). Topic 1X shall be reserved for software. Oversize maintenance diagrams that are specially prepared to support Topic 1 (but not EDP material) may be issued as Topic 10.
