BEYOND REVIEW DATE

This Defence Standard (Def Stan) 02–517 Part 1 covers the manufacture and testing requirements of Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) or Silicone Rubber Insulated Chlorosulphonated Polyethylene (CSP) (Limited Fire Hazard (LFH)) sheathed, pressure–tight cables for power, lighting, control and communication and instrumentation circuits in HM Surface Ships and Submarines.

The voltage rating of the cables is shown in the Tables of Dimensions at Annex E and the frequency of supply is up to and including 400 Hz.

Cables shall be required to withstand the conditions of reeving, temporary support and glanding into equipment and through bulkheads, that are accepted practices in the Shipbuilding and Ship refitting industry.
