NFPA 271 provides a test method that measures the response of materials exposed to controlled levels of radiant heating, with or without an external igniter.

The 2001 edition of this test standard has been revised to provide greater clarification and usability. The document has also been updated to incorporate the current technology refinements associated with an oxygen consumption conecalorimiter. (Approx. 30 pp., 2001) Formerly NFPA 264.
