Fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) tools aid building operation and maintenance personnel by alerting them to the presence of faults that can cause degradation in equipment life, capacity and energy efficiency, and by diagnosing the fault type. These faults might otherwise go unnoticed, so there is significant potential to provide value to owners and operators of HVAC equipment.
