About This Item

Full Description

Salaries are not the only drawing cards for consulting engineering firms competing for a shrinking pool of employees. This paper describes Camp Dresser & McKee's incentive program, including major annual awards, battlefield recognition, and incentives for professional development. The management incentive plan, which replaces traditional bonuses, identifies the business goals critical to the company's success, identifies key employees most capable of attaining those goals, and rewards them for their efforts. Other employee incentives include smaller bonuses for individuals or teams and weekend awards which offer managers the flexibility to instantly recognize employees who perform extraordinary efforts over a short period of time. Employees are encouraged to take their families for a weekend getaway. The firm also developed an honorarium program to reward employees who publish articles and present technical papers; two awards are given each year.
