This document supersedes the April 2012 edition. Text affected by the main changes in this edition is highlighted in red colour. However, if the changes involve a whole chapter, section or sub-section, normally only the title will be in red colour.

Main changes coming into force 1 July 2012

• Sec.1 Classification Principles

— Text changed in A231, B606 and B607 regarding approval authority (Ships/HSLC/Offshore).

• Sec.2 Assignment of Class

— New items in A204 regarding builder's procedures for managing excluded materials and an “Asbestos Free Declaration” added.

— A301: Added text regarding “rules to be applied”.

• Sec.4 Certification of Materials, Components and Systems

— New A203 regarding Asbestos.

Corrections and Clarifications
