Full Description

This paper compares the results of application of a three-stage filtration model to the calculation of rapid filtration in a column with the respective results of previous stochastic and phenomenological filtration models. The models were used to simulate rapid filtration in a column. For comparison, experimental data by the Israeli National Water Company "Mekorot", obtained in the course of design of a filtration unit at the Eshkol site, was used. Parameter variation in curves fitting was used to attain the closest approximation of experimental data by theoretical curves. In this context, the upper and lower envelopes of the set of experimental points were constructed and the upper and lower sets of optimal parameters were identified.
