Dust collecting is the process of collecting potentially dangerous dust from an area and storing it to be disposed of later. This could range from a high school woodshop to an industrial metal fabrication plant. It is not just wood dust that you could be collecting, either. It could be aluminum dust, cotton dust or soap dust. (Yes, even soap can be flammable.) Proper measures must therefore be taken in the design of the collection system.
