The guideline splits between four variants of infrastructures, two proprietary and two standardized. The goal is to ensure that the data flowing through such a data collection infrastructure, from vessel to data consumers, is reliable and trustworthy.

This document does not cover infrastructures related to the remote control of vessels or autonomous operation.
