This standard covers 6 grades of nodular iron (also known as ductile iron) as used in castings for the automotive and allied industries. As-cast, annealed and quenched and tempered products are included. A suffix number system is provided for designating when monitoring of tensile, yield and elongation properties is required for specific castings.
