Introduction

As a factor to be deployed in incentivising defence suppliers to attain a satisfactory and timely completion of contractual requirements, the Ministry is instituting generally a revised interim payment regime. In future the financing terms available on defence contracts will to a greater extent than hitherto tend away from an emphasis on reimbursement of expenditure per se and towards an emphasis on "payment by results". The following guidelines have been prepared in that connection.
