PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The purpose of this document is to define the responsibilities and tasks that comprise Core Construction Technical Assurance.

1. To both define/shape National Grid policy and process and audit/assist adherence to the same by the Alliances and Legacy Projects - with the objective of:

a) Targeting zero SHES incidents.

b) Targeting the very highest level of system reliability.

c) Enacting best and professional working practices

2. With reference to the Transmission Electricity Capital programme:

a) Agree the Capital programme for the next five years with Asset Management

b) Under the Project Manager (Core Construction Manager) for the NEC Contract Agreement – agree the content of the Capital programme to be delivered by each Alliance.

c) Manage the two-way change management process between Asset Management and the Alliances

 3. To support the delivery of Legacy projects in achieving 1a), b) and c) above.
