Purpose

Fasteners covered by this specification are intended for structural attachments in aerospace vehicle and associated accessories whenever access to one side of the joint is not adequate for the installation of conventional structural fasteners.

It is not intended that these fasteners be employed in applications requiring removal.

These fasteners are intended for applications where shear loads are the primary design consideration and any tensile loads are of secondary concern.

Abstract

This specification establishes the requirements for self-locking blind fasteners which capable of installed when only one side of an assembly is accessible.
