Purpose

Fasteners covered by this specification are intended for structural attachments in aerospace vehicles and associated accessories whenever access to one side of the joint is not adequate for the installation of conventional structural fasteners.

Abstract

This specification establishes the requirements for self-locking blind fasteners which are capable of being installed when only one side of an assembly is accessible.

Classification. This specification covers blind fasteners of the following classes:

Class 1. General Purpose (usable up to 450 °F)

Class 2. High Temperature (usable up to 1200 °F)

Class 3. Light Weight (usable up to 250 °F)

Class 4. Titanium (usable up to 600 °F)
